I am a vintage student here at the Vet School. I was Vice President of the Anatomy Society last year and aim to continue the work of the society this year. Learning anatomy can sometimes seem daunting at first as there is a lot of content and the society aims to help by making the learning of it fun. We have a few ideas in the pipeline including running a competition to design and painting a mural on the VTS wall. Prior to Vet School and still to this day Ive been working as a registered Pharmacy Technician within the NHS. Nine years ago I had a choice between continuing on this path or doing something I wanted to do for years - fast forward to today and here I am. In my spare time I used travel the UK with my two dogs shown in the photo above (Sapphire & Cobalt RIP 2022 & 2019) promoting responsible dog ownership and raising awareness of Breed Specific Legislation an archaic law that types dogs based on their appearance and not on anything they have actually done. For this work we received a Dogs today Magazine medal presented at the London Pet Show. I also enjoy all aspects of Art and Crafting. Hope to see you joining in any events that we host this year. I have also completed an undergraduate degree in Bio veterinary Science and a Masters in Biodiversity and Conservation. I took a 2-year break after completing my master’s to earn some money and worked on a dairy and sheep farm in North Yorkshire before applying for vet school. I have a horse called Bazil (pictured with me). I have owned him for 11 years although I have known him all his life (15 years). I spend the majority of my free time with him, schooling and hacking and I also enjoy playing squash, going for walks, and spending time with my friends and boyfriend. I wanted to be on the LVAS committee, firstly because I find learning all the anatomy challenging, so I thought it would be a good way to supplement my learning by helping others revise it, and secondly to hopefully make it a bit more fun! LVAS are currently seeking members to fill the following roles:
