Welcome to Liverpool Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (LVECCS) CURRENTLY INACTIVE 2023-24
Hello! We are the Liverpool Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society – a society originally started in America, we are now one of three UK vet schools to have their own SVECCS society.
Our aims are to provide extra learning opportunities for all those interested in emergency and critical care medicine. We cover all species so whether your passion is for farm, equine, smallies or exotics, there’s something for everyone! Emergency medicine requires confidence and quick thinking, so we aim to provide you with the skills and knowledge to tackle these situations successfully in your future careers!
Some of our highlight events from the last few years include:
Certified First Aid training weekend
Talk by Grange Veterinary Hospital on OOH emergency cases
Equine First Aid evening with Professor Debbie Archer
Talk by Ellie Jenkinson and David Owen from Vets Now Manchester
Talk on common poisons seen in practice from Nick Edwards BSc (Hons) MCLIP from the Veterinary Poisons Information Service.
Small Animal ECC Practical Morning with Vets Now and Frederike Schiborra including several stations and workshops on FAST scanning, toxicology, trauma cases and CPR.
We are planning to cover a variety of species in our events this year (Covid permitting!), so join our Facebook group (link to facebook) for updates!
