Be prepared to adapt your learning style to suit a heavier and different workload. What worked for you at school may not work at uni! (But if it does, then great!).
|
If your lecture notes don't fit on one page (I use mind maps) then you're trying to learn too much! |
You're not alone if you're feeling stressed... A good work-play balance is just as important as studying hard. Make sure you find time in your busy schedule to join a sports/arts club and socialise with friends
|
Flash cards, Flash cards, Flash cards!
Don't just write them- LEARN THEM! |
Don't be afraid or ashamed to ask for help, nearly everyone struggles in one way or another whilst at vet school and there's so much support available. It's there for a reason, use it!
|
You don't have to get 100% in exams (you won't) ... vet school isn't about exam performance but about long term learning and developing social skills that you will need in work... so don't spend all of your time in your books- go join a sports club or society, make friends that aren't vets, destress and try to enjoy uni and have fun!
Keep notes short and sweet- you have all the info you need on VITAL |
Try revising with friends, everything you talk about will stick in your mind!
If you work well with someone- stick at it! |
I found my friends were the best support I could've asked for during stressful times, we're all in the same boat so there's always someone to ask for help if you need it

Use the learning objectives as questions. |
