Welcome to Liverpool Student Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society
Hi, we are the Liverpool Student Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society! A society originally started in America, we are now one of only two UK vet schools to have their own SVECC society.
Our aims are to provide extra learning opportunities for all those interesting in emergency and critical care medicine. We welcome anyone with an interest in emergency medicine, whether your passion is for farm, equine or small animals! We hope our events throughout the year are able to cater for everyone. Emergency medicine is used so frequently in first opinion practice, we aim to provide Liverpool students with the knowledge to act quick in critical situations and be the best graduates out there!
Last year some of our highlights include:
A talk on common poisons seen in practice from Nick Edwards BSc (Hons) MCLIP from the Veterinary Poisons Information Service.
An equine first aid evening with Liverpool’s Professor Debbie Archer, including both a talk and practical bandaging session with Leahurst’s resident horses.
For this next year, we have plans to be even bigger and better!
